My dearables

I have received your letter

of the 15th of March submitting the

name of Commander Beckwith, Assistant

Harbour Master, for an 0.B.E.

The British Empire Order

is practically closed down as a

reward for war services, and as the

conditions for future appointments

have not yet been decided I am

afraid that it is not possible at

present to consider Beckwith's claim

in that respect.

As regards Taylour, I see

from your telegram of the 10th of

April that since your letter was

written, the Executive Council have

at last determined to pension him

off
